Bạn đang nói
về điều gì vậy? Lí tưởng sao?... đấy đích xác là điều tôi định phá huỷ đấy! Tôi
không đưa ra bất kì lí tưởng nào trước bạn cả. Tôi không định cho bạn bất cứ tưởng
tượng nào về tương lai; tôi không định cho bạn bất kì tương lai nào hết cả, bởi
vì tương lai là thủ đoạn để trì hoãn hiện tại. Nó là thủ đoạn để tránh bản thân
bạn, cách trốn thoát khỏi bản thân bạn. Ham muốn là trò lừa dối, và lí tưởng tạo
ra ham muốn. Tôi không định cho bạn bất kì cái 'phải' hay bất kì cái 'không phải'
nào, cả khẳng định lẫn phủ định. Tôi đơn giản bảo bạn vứt bỏ mọi lí tưởng và
hãy hiện hữu.
Nhưng tôi có
thể hiểu được câu hỏi của bạn. Bạn tạo ra lí tưởng từ nó, bạn bắt đầu nghĩ,
"Mình nên thế nào đây?" Bạn bắt đầu nghĩ, "Mình phải làm gì để
hiện hữu?" Tôi đang cố gắng lấy đi lí tưởng và bạn tạo ra lí tưởng từ nó: cách
vứt bỏ mọi lí tưởng. Bạn hiểu lầm tôi rồi, bạn diễn giải sai tôi rồi. Bạn không
nghe điều tôi đang nói, bạn cứ nghe điều tôi không nói chút nào. Nghe cẩn thận
vào.
Điều đó bao
giờ cũng xảy ra. Chúng ta không biết Phật đích xác nói gì, bởi vì những người
nói lại là những người như bạn. Chúng ta không biết điều Jesus đã nói, bởi vì những
người kể cũng lại là những người giống như bạn. Lời thuật chắc chắn nói điều họ
đã nghe, nhưng nó chẳng nói điều gì về điều người nói nói. Và những điều này có
thể là những điều hoàn toàn đối lập nhau. Tôi nói một ngôn ngữ hoàn toàn khác.
Bạn thu nó lại thành một thứ gì đó khác - theo ngôn ngữ của bạn; bạn bước vào
và bạn bắt đầu can thiệp.

Bạn trở nên bị
vỡ mộng với bản thân mình bởi vì bạn không biết bạn là ai, và bạn có hình ảnh
nào đó về bản thân mình. Hình ảnh đó không phải là bạn, hình ảnh đó không thể
là bạn được; hình ảnh đó là một kết cấu tâm trí. Bạn đã tạo ra một hình ảnh về
chính mình - bạn nghĩ đấy là điều mình là như thế. Còn khi bạn lắng nghe tôi và
tôi bắt đầu diễu cợt bạn, bạn trở nên vỡ mộng; hình ảnh bạn bị đập vỡ, hình ảnh
bạn không còn nguyên vẹn như trước nữa.
Nhưng bạn
không bị đập vỡ. Trong thực tế hình ảnh này không cho phép bạn có không gian,
nó không cho phép bạn hiện hữu. Hình ảnh này phải bị vứt đi để cho bạn có thể có
đủ không gian trưởng thành. Hình ảnh này đã trở nên quá khổng lồ, quá mạnh mẽ;
nó đã choán toàn bộ ngôi nhà của bạn và bạn thì đang sống trong hành lang, nó
không cho phép bạn đi vào nhà. Còn hình ảnh mà bạn đã tạo ra từ các lí tưởng
thì cứ tiếp tục kết án bạn, sự bịa đặt cứ tiếp tục kết án người bịa đặt.
Nhìn vào sự
xuẩn ngốc của nó, cái lố bịch của nó. Bạn tạo ra một hình ảnh, rất đẹp - một
cách tự nhiên khi bạn tạo ra thì bạn tạo ra hình ảnh đẹp - và thế rồi bởi vì hình
ảnh đó mà bạn bắt đầu trông xấu đi khi so sánh với nó. Bạn tạo ra một hình ảnh
rất, rất vĩ đại rằng bạn là thánh nhân, và thế rồi bạn thấy mình làm những việc
không thật là thánh lắm.
Bây giờ bạn cảm
thấy bị kết án. Hình ảnh này là của bạn, và chống hình ảnh này thì hành động của
bạn có vẻ rất tồi tệ. Điều tôi đang nói ở đây, điều Saraha đang nói với nhà vua,
là ở chỗ hình ảnh đó phải hoàn toàn bị vứt bỏ. Khoảnh khắc bạn vứt bỏ hình ảnh
này và bạn quên hình ảnh này, cái gì là đúng và cái gì là sai? Thế thì ai là tội
nhân và ai là thánh nhân? Thế thì bạn không có gì để so sánh cả. Thế thì bỗng
nhiên bạn thấy thoải mái. So sánh biến mất... và kết án biến mất. So sánh biến
mất... và bản ngã biến mất, bản ngã của tội nhân và bản ngã của thánh nhân.
Không có lí tưởng, bản ngã không thể tồn tại chút nào. Nó tồn tại qua lí tưởng,
thông qua lí tưởng. Lí tưởng là điều phải có cho bản ngã.
Hoặc bạn nghĩ
rằng bạn là tội nhân - bạn tạo ra bản ngã, căn cước - hoặc bạn nghĩ bạn là
thánh nhân; thế thì bạn tạo ra bản ngã, căn cước. Nhưng cả hai chỉ đi vào tồn tại
thông qua lí tưởng. Nếu lí tưởng không có đó, bạn là ai? thánh nhân hay tội
nhân? tốt hay xấu? xấu hay đẹp? Bạn là ai? Bạn đơn giản là bản thân mình, không
phán xét nào, không biện giải nào, không kết án nào. Bạn đơn giản có đó trong
thực tại của mình; đó là điều tôi gọi là 'hiện hữu'.

phải trở nên bị vỡ mộng lặp đi lặp lại, bởi vì sự nắm giữ của bạn vào hình ảnh
này trở nên lỏng ra một chút. Bất kì khi nào sự nắm giữ của bạn vào hình ảnh

đi, và đừng tạo ra ảo tưởng lần nữa - ảo tưởng về lí tưởng - và thế rồi xem cuộc

sinh như thế nào, phúc lành lớn lao bao quanh bạn như thế nào mà chẳng có lí do
gì hết cả.
Nó là của bạn,
chỉ cần hỏi. Bạn không làm gì cả. Bạn được Thượng đế chấp nhận như bạn đang thế.
Đây là toàn bộ thông điệp của tôi, và đây là toàn bộ về Mật tông: Bạn được chấp
nhận như bạn đang thế! Nhưng bạn cứ bác bỏ mình. Lí tưởng tạo ra khả năng cho bạn
bác bỏ, lí tưởng làm cho bạn có thể thành nghiệt ngã với chính mình, thành độc
ác, hung hăng - trở thành kẻ tự hành hạ mình. Nỗ lực của tôi ở đây là để giúp bạn
trở nên lành mạnh. Chủ nghĩa lí tưởng tạo ra điên khùng, nó biến toàn bộ trái đất
thành nhà thương điên.
Và bạn nói:

Bạn đang nói
điều gì vậy? Lí tưởng nào? Tôi không nói, "Bạn phải làm cái này." Tôi
không nói, "Bạn phải giống thế này." Tôi chỉ nói, "Dù bạn là bất
kì cái gì, hãy là cái đó." Tôi đang cố lấy đi mọi cái 'trở thành' từ bạn.
Tôi đang cố giúp bạn thấy vấn đề là bạn đã ở nhà; bạn chưa bao giờ đi đâu và bạn
cũng chẳng có đâu để mà đi. Đấy đã là cảnh ngộ - Thượng đế đang mưa lên bạn.
Samadhi đã là cảnh ngộ. Dù bạn đang ở đâu bạn vẫn đang trong niết bàn.
Đây là chứng
ngộ... khoảnh khắc này - không lí tưởng, không ham muốn, không đâu mà đi. Khoảnh
khắc này -được hoàn toàn thảnh thơi trong nó, ở đây bây giờ - là khoảnh khắc của
Thượng đế, khoảnh khắc của chân lí. Nhưng bạn nghe tôi và bạn bắt đầu nói như vẹt,
bạn nghe tôi và bạn bắt đầu lặp lại từng lời. Bạn không theo được ý nghĩa, bạn
theo từng câu chữ chứ không theo tinh thần.

Một thuyền
trưởng đại dương già rắn rỏi mua một con vẹt non tại một bến cảng nước ngoài,
được đảm bảo nó là một con vẹt biết học nói tuyệt vời, và ông ta treo nó trên đài
chỉ huy. Trở về qua Vịnh Biscay, một đám mây đen dữ tợn kéo tới và người hoa
tiêu nhận xét, "Sắp tối sầm hết cả bây giờ đây!"
Chẳng bao lâu
sau đó đám mây bột phát thành một cơn mưa dữ dội và thuyền trưởng nói với thuyền

ta phải làm gì để được cứu đây?"

Bơm đi!"
Con tầu và mọi
người đều bị lạc. Chỉ còn mỗi con vẹt ướt sũng, luôn chửi thề là còn sống, và
sau một số cuộc phiêu lưu thì về tay một người phụ nữ không chồng, đang đợi cha
xứ. Vì là người thận trọng nên bà ấy che vải lên cái lồng, để cho cha xứ được
đón chào, con vẹt liền nói, "Sắp tối sầm hết cả bây giờ!" Bà này giận
tím gan và đặt con vẹt ngay dưới vòi nước lạnh, nó hét đinh tai "Trời đang
nổi cơn thịnh nộ đây!"
"Không,
không, Cô Fantigh! Cô không nên ác độc với sinh linh của Thượng đế. Tốt hơn là
hãy đem nó tới nhà thờ vào ngày thờ phụng chúa và để cho nó nhiễm ảnh hưởng tốt."
Điều này được thực hiện ngay và con vẹt hành xử hệt như một thiên thần, thậm
chí còn tham gia hát thánh ca.
Cha xứ, rạng
rỡ với thành công của mình, tô hồng thêm cho bản thông báo của mình, "Thưa
các thầy dòng, hôm nay chúng ta hỏi: Chúng ta phải là gì để được cứu rỗi?",
và lẫn trong tiếng vỗ cánh là âm thanh the thé của con vẹt, "Bơm đi, đồ

Bạn đừng trở
thành con vẹt. Bạn có thể lặp lại những điều tôi đang nói nhưng đấy không phải
là vấn đề chút nào. Hiểu điều tôi đang nói. Việc lặp lại chỉ gây rắc rối cho bạn.
Chỉ một chút thay đổi thanh điệu, sự nhấn mạnh, hơi đổi một dấu phẩy, một dấu
chấm và mọi thứ mất đi. Lắng nghe ý nghĩa đi. Và có những cách khác để nghe. Một
cách là lắng nghe từ tâm trí; thế thì bạn ghi nhớ. Và bạn đã được dạy cách lắng
nghe qua tâm trí, bởi vì mọi trường phổ thông, cao đẳng, đại học đều dạy cho bạn
cách nhồi nhét. Họ cho bạn những khái niệm sai - dường như ghi nhớ là tri thức.
Ghi nhớ không phải là tri thức, ghi nhớ đơn giản là học vẹt. Bạn sẽ biết văn
chương, bạn sẽ biết câu chữ, nhưng nó sẽ trống rỗng; bên trong chẳng có ý nghĩa
gì, không ý nghĩa nào trong nó. Và câu chữ đó là nguy hiểm mà chẳng có nghĩa nào
trong đó cả.
Còn có một
cách khác để lắng nghe, và đấy là từ trái tim. Lắng nghe qua trái tim đi. Lắng
nghe dường như là bạn không nghe biện luận mà nghe bài ca. Lắng nghe dường như
là bạn không nghe triết lí mà là bài thơ. Lắng nghe như bạn nghe nhạc. Ngắm tôi
như bạn ngắm một vũ công. Cảm thấy tôi như bạn cảm thấy người yêu. Thế thì văn
chương sẽ có đó; nó sẽ được dùng như phương tiện, nhưng nó sẽ không phải là vật
thực. Phương tiện sẽ bị quên lãng, còn ý nghĩa sẽ đi vào trong trái tim bạn và
sẽ còn lại ở đó. Và nó sẽ thay đổi bản thể bạn, nó sẽ thay đổi cách nhìn cuộc đời
của bạn.

Điều đó có
quan hệ với câu hỏi thứ nhất. Điều Phật nói phải đã bị hiểu lầm. Vâng, ông ấy
đã nói rằng đi vào trong thiền người ta phải vượt ra ngoài dục. Bây giờ những
người nghe lời ông ấy lại nghĩ ông ấy chống dục - một cách tự nhiên vậy: ông ấy
nói bạn phải vượt ra ngoài dục. Họ bắt đầu nghĩ rằng thế thì dục phải là chướng
ngại, bằng không tại sao bạn phải vượt ra ngoài dục? Họ bắt đầu tranh đấu với dục

tranh đấu với dục, và Phật giáo trở thành một trong những tôn giác khổ hạnh nhất
trên thế giới.
Bạn không thể
quan sát thấy vẻ duyên dáng mênh mông trong các bức tượng hay tranh về Phật hay
sao - nó có thể bắt nguồn từ khổ hạnh được không? Có khả năng con người đẹp đẽ
này, khuôn mặt duyên dáng này, tình yêu này, từ bi này có thể bắt nguồn từ khổ
hạnh được chăng?
Những người
khổ hạnh là những người tự hành hạ mình, và khi người ta tự hành hạ mình thì
người ta bắt đầu hành hạ những người khác nữa, ở mức độ cao hơn bình thường.
Khi một người tự mình trong khổ, người đó không thể nhìn bất kì ai khác trong hạnh
phúc được; người đó bắt đầu phá huỷ hạnh phúc của người khác. Đó là điều cái gọi
là mahatmas của bạn cứ làm: họ không thể thấy bạn hạnh phúc được, cho nên bất
kì khi nào bạn hạnh phúc, họ lập tức tới và nói, "Phải có cái gì đó sai rồi,
người hạnh phúc ngụ ý tội nhân."
Bạn có thể
quan sát điều đó trong chính mình nữa, bởi vì qua nhiều thế kỉ cái gọi là những
mahatmas và các thánh nhân đã ước định bạn để cảm thấy mặc cảm bất kì khi nào bạn
cảm thấy hạnh phúc. Bất kì khi nào bạn đang khổ, mọi sự đều tốt. Nhưng nếu bạn
cảm thấy vui vẻ lớn, bạn bắt đầu cảm thấy có đôi chút không thoải mái - bằng
cách nào đó điều ấy dường như không phải. Bạn chưa quan sát điều đó trong bản
thân mình sao? Nó đến từ đâu vậy? Hạnh phúc...và không đúng sao? Còn khổ thì được.
Cái gì đó rất đối kháng với cuộc sống - rất phủ định cuộc sống, rất chối bỏ cho
cuộc sống - đã đi vào trong dòng máu nhân loại. Và nó đã tới qua cái gọi là người
khổ hạnh. Những người khổ hạnh này là những người thần kinh: họ là những kẻ tự
bạo, họ tra tấn mình. Vui vẻ duy nhất của họ là trong việc tạo ra ngày càng nhiều
khổ.
Phật không phải
là kẻ tự bạo - không thể thế được. Phật trông đẹp thế, vui vẻ thế, hạnh phúc thế,
cực kì phúc lạc thế. Những người đã nghe ông ấy nói chắc phải hiểu lầm ở đâu
đó. Vâng, ông ấy nói vượt ra ngoài dục - người ta phải vượt ra ngoài nó bởi vì
nó chỉ là bậc thang đầu tiên của chiếc thang. Nhưng ông ấy không nói chống lại
nó. Vượt ra ngoài không nhất thiết là chống lại. Trong thực tế điều tương phản
lại mới là hoàn cảnh: nếu bạn chống dục, bạn sẽ chẳng bao giờ có thể vượt ra
ngoài nó được. Vượt ra ngoài chỉ tới thông qua việc đi qua nó. Bạn phải hiểu dục,
bạn phải thân thiết với dục.
Cái gì đó, ở
đâu đó, đã bị hiểu sai. Saraha tới như việc diễn giải đúng về Phật. Và Saraha
phải đã quan sát tai hoạ gì đã xảy ra cho hàng nghìn người đi theo Phật: thay
vì vượt ra ngoài dục họ lại bị nó ám ảnh. Khi bạn liên tục tranh đấu với cái gì
đó, bạn trở nên bị nó ám ảnh.
Bạn có thể
quan sát nó: người tin vào nhịn ăn trở nên bị ám ảnh bởi thức ăn. Mahatma
Gandhi bị thức ăn ám ảnh, liên tục suy nghĩ về thức ăn - ăn cái gì và không ăn
cái gì. Dường như là chỉ có mỗi một điều quan trọng nhất trong cuộc sống - ăn
cái gì và không ăn cái gì. Người thường ít bị ám ảnh, họ không nghĩ về điều đó
quá nhiều. Bạn cứ thử nhịn ăn ba ngày và nghĩ xem cái gì xảy ra trong tâm trí bạn.
Bạn sẽ nghĩ về
thức ăn liên tục. Bây giờ vượt ra ngoài thức ăn là tốt, nhưng nhịn ăn không thể
là cách thức, bởi vì nhịn ăn tạo ra ám ảnh về thức ăn. Làm sao nó có thể là con
đường để vượt ra ngoài được? Nếu bạn thực sự muốn vượt ra ngoài thức ăn thì bạn
phải ăn cho đúng. Bạn phải ăn đúng thức ăn, bạn phải ăn đúng cách và đúng giờ.
Bạn phải tìm ra cái gì phù hợp cho thân thể bạn, cái gì nuôi dưỡng.
Vâng, điều đó
sẽ đưa bạn vượt ra ngoài thức ăn, bạn sẽ chẳng bao giờ nghĩ đến thức ăn nữa.
Khi thân thể được nuôi dưỡng đầy đủ bạn không nghĩ về thức ăn. Biết bao người
nghĩ về thức ăn bởi vì theo cách này cách khác họ đều đang nhịn ăn. Bạn sẽ ngạc
nhiên khi tôi nói điều đó.
Bạn có thể ăn
quá nhiều kem - đấy cũng là một loại nhịn ăn bởi vì nó không đủ chất dinh dưỡng,
bạn đơn giản tống những thứ vô giá trị vào bên trong bạn. Chúng không thoả mãn
bạn; chúng trút đầy bụng bạn nhưng chúng không đáp ứng cho bạn. Bạn cảm thấy có
chất liệu nhưng không có nội dung.
Thức ăn sai sẽ
tạo ra không hài lòng, và cơn đói của bạn sẽ không được thoả mãn bởi vì cơn đói
cần chất dinh dưỡng, không phải là thức ăn. Nhớ lấy, cơn đói cần chất dinh dưỡng,
không phải thức ăn. Và cơn đói không bận tâm nhiều lắm đến ngon miệng. Điều cơ
bản là liệu nó có phù hợp cho thân thể bạn hay không, liệu nó có cho thân thể bạn
năng lượng cần thiết hay không. Nếu nó cho đủ năng lượng cần thiết thì thế là
được. Nếu ngon miệng đi cùng với dinh dưỡng, bạn sẽ được cực kì thoả mãn. Và nhớ,
tôi không chống ngon miệng, tôi hoàn toàn ủng hộ nó. Nhưng chỉ có ngon miệng
thì không thể đủ dinh dưỡng. Và chỉ có thức ăn mà không ngon miệng cũng là không
thông minh, đần độn. Khi bạn có thể có cả hai điều đó, sao không nhận? Người
thông minh sẽ tìm thấy thức ăn đủ dinh dưỡng, thức ăn ngon miệng. Đấy không phải
là vấn đề quá lớn. Con người có thể lên đến mặt trăng mà chẳng lẽ không thể tìm
ra được thức ăn đủ dinh dưỡng cho mình sao? Con người đã làm bao nhiêu việc diệu
kì mà chẳng lẽ không thể thoả mãn cơn đói của mình hay sao? Điều này dường như
không phải là tình huống đúng đắn. Không, con người đã không nhìn vào đó.
Có những người
tin vào việc nhịn ăn - họ phá huỷ thân thể. Và rồi lại có những người cứ tọng đủ
mọi thứ rác vào bụng - họ cũng phá huỷ thân thể. Cả hai đều trên cùng một con
thuyền: cả hai đều đang nhịn ăn, và cả hai đều liên tục bị ám ảnh. Một đằng thì
bị ám ảnh qua thèm ăn, một đằng thì bị ám ảnh qua kìm nén. Chỉ ở giữa mới là điều
siêu việt.
Cho nên đấy
cũng là trường hợp cho dục, và đấy cũng là trường hợp cho mọi thứ trong cuộc sống.
Saraha phải đã trở nên nhận biết rằng những người nói rằng Phật đã nói phải vượt
ra bên ngoài dục thì thực tế họ lại không vượt ra ngoài dục chút nào. Thay vì
thế họ ngày càng trở nên bị dục ám ảnh nhiều hơn và rơi sâu hơn vào trong vũng
lầy của nó.
Có một ni cô
trẻ tới gặp Mẹ bề trên trong tâm trạng đau buồn, và sau một hồi quanh co lòng
vòng mới dám thú thật đã có mang.
"Ai gây
ra chuyện này? Ai là thằng đàn ông đồi bại, tội lỗi này?" Mẹ bề trên hỏi.
"Ôi, Mẹ
tôn kính, con không phạm vào tội lỗi nhục dục với đàn ông đâu," ni cô than
thở.
"Thôi được,
đàn bà chắc không thể làm bố được chứ?"
Mẹ bề trên
nói, bắt đầu bực tức.
"Không,
thực mà! Mẹ tôn kính. Bố nó là một trong những thiên thần thiêng liêng,"
ni cô bẽn lẽn mỉm cười.
"Thiên
thần thiêng liêng! Điều vô nghĩa ấy là gì vậy?"
"Dạ,
thưa Mẹ tôn kính, người ấy giáng xuống con vào nửa đêm trong giấc ngủ và khi
con hỏi người ấy là ai thì người ấy nói, "Thánh Michael," và cho con
xem tên người ấy trên áo lót để chứng minh."
Một khi bạn
đang chống cái gì đó, bạn sẽ tìm ra cách để thoát ra nó, bạn sẽ tìm thấy cửa
sau nào đó. Con người rất tinh ranh. Nếu bạn kìm nén cái gì đó, tâm trí ranh

nhân của bạn mơ quá nhiều về dục, họ phải mơ như thế. Ban ngày họ có thể chối bỏ,
nhưng ban đêm... khi họ có ý thức họ có thể kìm nén, nhưng khi họ ngủ, thế thì trong
giấc mơ dục thành lớn, đầy mầu sắc rực rỡ, nó trở thành ảo giác. Và rồi vào buổi
sáng họ thấy mặc cảm, và bởi vì họ thấy mặc cảm nên họ lại kìm nén nhiều hơn.
Và khi họ kìm nén nhiều hơn thì đêm sau họ lại có giấc mơ đẹp hơn nữa về dục -
mà theo họ thì thật khủng khiếp. Điều đó phụ thuộc vào cách bạn diễn giải nó là
đẹp hay khủng khiếp.
Một cô học
trò 'khó tính' mười lăm tuổi được gửi tới một nhà tâm lí, người đang hỏi cô ta
một số câu hỏi rất cá nhân. Ông ta chắc chắn rằng vấn đề dục là nền tảng cho rắc
rối và hỏi cô ấy, "Cháu có phải chịu đựng vì dục hay những giấc mơ gợi
tình không?"

Vấn đề tuỳ
thuộc vào bạn liệu bạn gọi chúng là đẹp đẽ hay khủng khiếp. Trong đêm chúng đẹp
đẽ, ban ngày chúng trở thành khủng khiếp. Trong đêm bạn hưởng thú chúng, ban
ngày bạn chịu đựng. Cái vòng luẩn quẩn được tạo ra, và cái gọi là thánh nhân của
bạn cứ đi trong cái vòng luẩn quẩn này: ban ngày chịu đựng, ban đêm tận hưởng; ngày
ông ta chịu đựng, đêm ông ta tận hưởng - và ông ta bị xẻ làm đôi giữa hai điều
này.
Và nếu bạn
nhìn sâu vào trong bản thân mình bạn sẽ thấy điều ấy một cách dễ dàng. Bất kì
cái gì bạn kìm nén đều sẽ còn lại đó, bạn không thể gạt bỏ nó đi được. Cái bị kìm
nén còn lại, chỉ cái được bày tỏ mới biến mất. Cái được bày tỏ thăng hoa, cái bị
kìm nén còn lại - và không chỉ còn lại, nó sẽ ngày càng trở nên mạnh hơn. Khi
thời gian trôi qua nó sẽ ngày càng trở nên mạnh hơn.
Saraha phải
đã nhìn vào điều đã xảy ra hai trăm năm sau Phật: diễn giải sai, và mọi người gần
như bị dục ám ảnh. Từ ám ảnh đó của các sư và ni Phật giáo, Mật tông đã được
sinh ra như sự nổi dậy - sự nổi dậy chống Phật giáo, không chống Phật. Qua nổi

theo sau, nhưng không chống lại thầy. Những người đi theo đã mang theo câu chữ,
còn Saraha đem linh hồn.

Tuần trăng mật

là tưởng tượng. Nó là phóng chiếu, nó không phải là thực tại; nó là một giấc mơ
được phóng chiếu. "Tuần trăng mật qua đi" nghĩa là giấc mơ đã qua, và
bây giờ bắt đầu hôn nhân, thực tại. Tuần trăng mật càng cao, tan vỡ ảo tưởng
càng lớn. Đó là lí do tại sao hôn nhân vì yêu không thành công. Hôn nhân thành
công nhưng không có hôn nhân vì yêu.
Hôn nhân vì
yêu không thể thành công được; thất bại là bản chất cho nó. Hôn nhân vì yêu là
tưởng tượng, và điều tưởng tượng không thể thắng được thực tại. Chỉ có một cách
còn lại trong tưởng tượng và bao giờ cũng còn lại trong tuần trăng mật, và đó
là không bao giờ gặp người bạn yêu. Thế thì điều ấy là có thể: bạn có thể có nó
trong cả cuộc đời mình - nhưng đừng bao giờ gặp người mình yêu, chớ bao giờ gặp
người tình của mình.
Những người
tình vĩ đại nhất trong lịch sử là những người không được phép gặp nhau: Laila
và Majnu, Shiri và Farihad - đó là những người tình vĩ đại. Họ không được phép
gặp nhau; xã hội đã tạo ra quá nhiều chướng ngại đến mức họ bao giờ cũng vẫn
còn trong trạng thái tuần trăng mật. Hệt như khi thức ăn có đấy nhưng bạn không
được phép ăn, cho nên tưởng tượng tiếp tục. Nếu bạn được phép ăn, tưởng tượng
biến mất.
Hôn nhân vì
yêu không thể thành công được. Điều tôi ngụ ý 'không thành công' nghĩa là gì?
Theo nghĩa là mọi người muốn nó thành công, nó không thể thành công được. Hôn
nhân thành công, nhưng thế thì không có yêu. Đó là lí do tại sao trong quá khứ
tất cả các xã hội trên thế giới, theo kinh nghiệm, đều quyết định nghiêng về
hôn nhân và chống tình yêu. Xã hội Ấn Độ là một trong những xã hội cổ đại nhất
trên thế giới. Nó đã tồn tại ít nhất năm nghìn năm nay, hay nhiều hơn thế nữa.
Từ kinh nghiệm lâu dài này Ấn Độ đã quyết định theo hôn nhân mà không theo tình
yêu, bởi vì hôn nhân không có tình yêu có thể thành công do chỗ nó không có tuần
trăng mật trong đó; ngay từ ban đầu nó đã rất thực tế, ngay trên đất bằng. Nó
không cho phép bất kì mơ mộng nào.
Tại Ấn Độ, bản
thân các đôi trai gái không được phép lựa chọn. Con trai không được phép chọn
con gái, con gái không được phép chọn con trai; bố mẹ chọn cho chúng. Một cách
tự nhiên chúng sẽ thực tế hơn, kinh nghiệm hơn. Và cũng tự nhiên là chúng không

tình yêu. Tình yêu không được mang vào trong thế giới vật chất chút nào. Chúng
đến nhà chiêm tinh, chúng hỏi nhà chiêm tinh về mọi thứ - nhưng không hỏi về
tình yêu. Tình yêu không trở thành chất liệu trong đó.
Hai người
không quen biết, đàn ông và đàn bà, được bố mẹ, xã hội gắn với nhau và được để ở
với nhau. Một cách tự nhiên khi bạn sống với một người, có thích thú nào đó nảy
sinh. Nhưng thích thú đó cũng chỉ là thích thú bạn có với người em gái, đấy
không phải là tình yêu. Bởi vì bạn được sinh ra trong một gia đình nào đó - bạn
đã không chọn chị em mình, bạn cũng chẳng chọn anh em mình; bạn không chọn họ,
ngẫu nhiên mà bạn được sinh ra với cùng bố mẹ - bạn có một thích thú nào đó. Sống
với nhau thời gian dài, cả nghìn lẻ một giao tiếp, và người ta bắt đầu thích -
hay không thích. Nhưng nó chẳng bao giờ là yêu và chẳng bao giờ là ghét; nó chẳng
bao giờ đi đến cực điểm, nó rất cân bằng. Cùng trường hợp như thế cũng xảy ra
cho hôn nhân, hôn nhân được thu xếp. Chồng và vợ sống với nhau, và dần dần họ bắt
đầu có cảm tình lẫn nhau.
Một điều khác
xã hội làm: xã hội không cho phép bất kì quan hệ dục nào ngoài hôn nhân, cho
nên một cách tự nhiên chồng phải làm tình với vợ, và vợ phải làm tình với chồng.
Nếu bạn chỉ được phép ăn thức ăn này mà không được ăn thức ăn khác, bạn có thể
đợi được bao lâu? Bạn phải ăn thôi. Đây là thủ đoạn của xã hội. Nếu dục ngoài hôn
nhân mà được phép, có mọi khả năng là chồng có thể không muốn làm tình với vợ
và vợ không muốn làm tình với chồng. Chỉ để cho khao khát mãnh liệt mà không có
lối ra nào khác họ phải bắt đầu làm tình với nhau. Từ chỗ tuyệt vọng họ bắt đầu
trở nên liên kết với nhau. Rồi trẻ con được sinh ra... và nhiều thứ ràng buộc nữa:

Hôn nhân vì
yêu chắc chắn thất bại bởi vì hôn nhân vì yêu là hiện tượng thi vị hoá. Bạn yêu
và bạn bắt đầu mơ mộng về đàn bà hay đàn ông, rồi bạn đạt tới đỉnh, cực điểm mơ
mộng. Những mơ mộng này tiếp tục cho tới khi bạn gặp người đàn bà, cho tới khi
bạn gặp người đàn ông. Rồi các bạn tới với nhau, các bạn được thoả mãn; những
mơ mộng này bắt đầu biến mất. Bây gì lần đầu tiên bạn bắt đầu nhìn thấy người
kia như con người thực của họ.
Khi bạn nhận
thấy vợ mình như cô ta vẫn thế, khi bạn nhận thấy chồng mình thực như anh ta vẫn
thế, tuần trăng mật trôi qua. Đấy là ý nghĩa của 'tuần trăng mật đã qua'. Và điều
đó xảy ra không chỉ trong hôn nhân, nó xảy ra trong nhiều loại quan hệ. Nó xảy
ra ở đây với tôi. Bạn đến tôi và bạn có thể có tuần trăng mật, bạn có thể bắt đầu
tưởng tượng về tôi. Tôi chẳng có phần nào trong đó cả, tôi không phải là một phần
trong đó. Nó là cái gì đó bạn làm một mình tất cả. Nhưng bạn bắt đầu tưởng tượng,
ước muốn: điều này sắp xảy ra và điều kia sắp xảy ra, rồi Osho sẽ làm cái này
và Osho sẽ làm cái kia. Thế rồi một hôm nào đó tuần trăng mật qua đi. Trong thực
tế tôi bao giờ cũng muốn đợi cho tới khi tuần trăng mật qua đi, thế rồi tôi mới
bắt đầu làm việc, không bao giờ trước nó, bởi vì tôi không muốn trở thành một
phần trong tưởng tượng của bạn. Tôi chỉ bắt đầu làm việc khi tôi thấy rằng bây

Trong thực tế
tôi bao giờ cũng muốn trao danh hiệu sannyas khi tuần trăng mật đã qua. Trao
danh hiệu sannyas trong tuần trăng mật là nguy hiểm, rất nguy hiểm, vì khoảnh
khắc tuần trăng mật qua đi bạn sẽ bắt đầu cảm thấy chống tôi, bạn sẽ bắt đầu nổi
dậy chống tính chất sannyas, bạn sẽ bắt đầu phản ứng. Tốt hơn cả là nên đợi.
Trong mọi
quan hệ - trong tình bạn, trong quan hệ thầy-đệ tử - trong bất kì kiểu quan hệ
nào bao giờ cũng có một phần tưởng tượng. Tưởng tượng đó chỉ là tâm trí bạn: các
ham muốn bị kìm nén đang bay lượn trong mơ mộng. Trong một thế giới tốt hơn, với
nhiều hiểu biết hơn, hôn nhân sẽ biến mất, và cùng với hôn nhân cả tuần trăng mật
cũng biến mất.
Bây giờ lắng
nghe xem. Đã từng có những xã hội... chẳng hạn xã hội Hindu - xã hội này thủ
tiêu tuần trăng mật bởi việc thủ tiêu tình yêu, và chỉ có hôn nhân là tồn tại. Ở
Mĩ người ta lại đang thủ tiêu hôn nhân và cứu tình yêu và tuần trăng mật; chỉ
có tuần trăng mật tồn tại, không có hôn nhân - nó đang biến mất. Nhưng với tôi
cả hai đều dấn sâu trong âm mưu. Tuần trăng mật có thể tồn tại được chỉ nếu có
kìm nén nào đó, bằng không thì chẳng có gì để phóng chiếu cả. Và nếu có cái gì
đó để phóng chiếu, thế thì tình yêu cứ thất bại mãi. Thế thì các học giả Hindu
về xã hội sẽ tới và họ bắt đầu thu xếp cho hôn nhân bởi vì tình yêu thất bại:
nó làm cho người ta phát khùng và chẳng giúp gì cho họ sống cuộc đời mình, nó
làm cho họ phải tự tử, nó làm cho họ thần kinh, tâm thần phân liệt, cuồng loạn.
Cho nên các học giả Hindu về xã hội phải tới, các tu sĩ và các chính khách phải
tới để thu xếp cho hôn nhân, bởi vì tình yêu quá nguy hiểm. Và đấy chính là
cách xã hội chuyển giữa hai cực.
Đôi khi khi
người ta phát chán với hôn nhân, như họ đã phát chán ở Mĩ, họ bắt đầu nghĩ tới
tình yêu. Khi người ta phát chán với tình yêu, chẳng chóng thì chầy họ sẽ thấy
- họ đã tìm thấy nó như thế - thế thì họ bắt đầu chuyển sang hướng về hôn nhân.
Cả hai đều là các cực của cùng một trò chơi.
Đối với tôi cần
có một kiểu xã hội khác trong đó hôn nhân và lãng mạn cả hai đều biến mất. Hôn
nhân biến mất bởi vì buộc hai người sống với nhau theo bó buộc pháp lí là vô đạo
đức. Buộc hai người sống với nhau khi họ không muốn sống với nhau là chống tự

cũng không thành vấn đề, nhưng tôi muốn tống khứ mụ vợ, cái mụ lẳng lơ mà tôi
thì không muốn giết người. Vậy ông bảo tôi phải làm sao bây giờ?"
"Mua cho
bà ta một con ngựa khoẻ mạnh và nó có thể sẽ hất tung bà ta lên."
Một tháng sau
người đó quay lại và nói vợ anh ta bây giờ thành người đàn bà cưỡi ngựa giỏi nhất
trong quận. "Thử thế này vậy, " ông luật sư nói, "mua cho bà ta
một chiếc Hon đa, và để bà ấy đi lên núi bằng cái xe ấy."
Người đàn ông
này làm theo lời, nhưng rồi bà ấy lái xe như Stirling Moss, gây nguy hiểm cho mọi

Hôn nhân tạo
ra cả nghìn lẻ một thứ phức tạp và chẳng giải quyết được gì. Thế mà nó lại
thành công đấy: nó thành công trong việc làm cho mọi người thành nô lệ. Nó
thành công trong việc phá huỷ tính cá nhân của con người. Bạn không thấy điều ấy
tất cả xung quanh sao? Người không gia đình có tính cá nhân nào đó còn người có
gia đình bắt đầu mất đi tính cá nhân của mình; người ấy bắt đầu ngày càng trở
nên kiểu cách. Người đàn bà chưa xây dựng gia đình có vui vẻ, cái gì đó tuôn chảy.
Người đàn bà đã có chồng trở thành tẻ nhạt, thờ ơ, chán ngắt. Điều này là xấu, buộc
mọi người thành buồn tẻ. Mọi người ở đây để hạnh phúc, mọi người ở đây để tận
hưởng và lễ hội. Điều này là xấu!
Hôn nhân phải
ra đi. Nhưng nếu bạn chọn tưởng tượng và tình yêu, bạn sẽ rơi vào cùng cái bẫy
hôn nhân, bởi vì tình yêu chẳng bao giờ thành công, chẳng bao giờ thành công
như hôn nhân thành công về mặt tài chính, an toàn, vì trẻ con, vì xã hội, vì điều
này điều nọ - yêu không bao giờ thành công như hôn nhân thành công. Cho nên
tình yêu nhất định tạo ra một kiểu rắc rối khác. Và tình yêu tồn tại bởi vì ham
muốn bị kìm nén. Khi hôn nhân biến mất và ham muốn không bị kìm nén thì tình
yêu sẽ biến đi một cách tự động.
Một xã hội thực
của con người sẽ không biết tí gì về hôn nhân và sẽ không biết gì về tuần trăng
mật. Nó sẽ chỉ biết vui vẻ, biết về chia sẻ với mọi người. Chừng nào bạn còn có
thể chia sẻ thì còn tốt; nếu bạn không thể chia sẻ được nữa thì tạm biệt. Hôn
nhân biến mất và với việc đó cái li dị xấu xí cũng biến theo. Hôn nhân biến mất
và với nó cả tưởng tượng về tuần trăng mật cũng biến mất.
Khi bạn được
tự do yêu đương, gặp gỡ, sống cùng với mọi người, tuần trăng mật sẽ biến mất.
Laila và Majnu, rồi Shiri và Farihad đều không thể có - chẳng ai ngăn cản con đường.
Bạn có thể gặp bất kì người đàn bà nào và bạn có thể gặp bất kì người đàn ông
nào, bất kì ai bạn ham muốn và bất kì ai ham muốn bạn; không ai ngáng đường cả.
Thế thì cần gì phải tưởng tượng nữa? Nếu mọi loại thức ăn đều có sẵn, bất kì
cái gì bạn muốn ăn cũng đều có cả và không có ai đứng đó tựa như cảnh sát hay
quan toà hay tu sĩ, làm bạn sợ hãi và hoảng sợ rằng nếu bạn ăn thức ăn này bạn
sẽ phải xuống địa ngục, nếu bạn ăn thức ăn kia bạn có thể lên cõi trời... rồi
thức ăn bạn không muốn ăn lại dẫn lên cõi trời còn thức ăn bạn muốn ăn dẫn xuống
địa ngục. Bất kì cái gì đem đến cho bạn vui vẻ đều dẫn tới địa ngục còn bất kì
cái gì làm cho bạn khổ sở đều dẫn tới thiên đường.
Khi không có
ai đứng ở giữa bạn và ham muốn của bạn, khi ham muốn được tự do, sẽ không có
kìm nén. Không có kìm nén, tuần trăng mật sẽ biến mất. Tuần trăng mật là sản phẩm
phụ: nó tồn tại với hôn nhân. Nó giống như miếng mồi. Bạn đi câu cá, bạn dùng mồi.
Tuần trăng mật là miếng mồi, nó đưa bạn vào hôn nhân. Đó là lí do tại sao đàn
bà rất, rất nhấn mạnh về hôn nhân - bởi vì họ biết.
Họ gần thực tế
hơn, kinh nghiệm hơn đàn ông. Đàn ông vẫn còn là những tay mơ, họ nghĩ tới các
vì sao và mặt trăng, còn đàn bà chỉ cười vào cái ham muốn lố lăng của họ. Đàn
bà biết - cô ấy rất thực tế - cô ấy biết rằng trong vòng mười, mười hai, mười
lăm ngày, từ hai đến ba tuần lễ, tuần trăng mật sẽ biến mất... rồi sao đây? Cô ấy

một xã hội khác sẽ có vui vẻ. 'Tình yêu' sẽ không phải là một từ quan trọng như
''vui vẻ', 'lễ hội’. Hai người muốn chia sẻ năng lượng của mình; nếu họ cả hai
đều sẵn lòng, chẳng có gì cản trở cả. Sẽ chỉ có giới hạn là nếu người kia không
sẵn lòng, điều đó kết thúc; thế thì nó sẽ không bao giờ bắt đầu được. Tất cả những
giới hạn khác đều nên bị vứt bỏ.
Và bây giờ
khoa học đã có thể làm cho vấn đề trẻ con rất dễ giải quyết. Ngày xưa người ta
không may mắn được đến thế, bạn bây giờ được may mắn hơn nhiều; vấn đề trẻ con
có thể được giải quyết. Bạn có thể ở với người đàn bà cho đến ngày bạn nghĩ rằng
bây giờ bạn đã sống chung đủ lâu và tình yêu của bạn, vui vẻ của bạn với người
đàn bà đó còn tăng lên, vui vẻ của bạn với người đàn ông còn tăng lên, và bây
giờ không thể có sự tách biệt nữa, bạn đã tìm thấy người bạn đời tâm hồn của
mình - cái ngày bạn cảm thấy rằng bạn có thể có con. Bằng không thì chẳng cần
phải có con.
Và trong một
xã hội tốt hơn, trẻ con nên thuộc về cộng đồng. Gia đình phải tan biến. Nên có
cộng đồng của mọi người: cộng đồng các hoạ sĩ, nơi các hoạ sĩ - đàn ông và đàn
bà - sống với nhau và tận hưởng việc ở cùng nhau, cộng đồng các nhà thơ, cộng đồng
thợ mộc, cộng đồng thợ vàng bạc; cộng đồng các loại người khác nhau, những người
sống cùng nhau, thay cho gia đình. Gia đình là một tai hoạ. Nhiều người sống với
nhau sẽ tốt hơn, họ có mọi thứ chung và họ chia sẻ tình yêu cho nhau. Nhưng
không nên có bất kì hạn chế nào.
Tình yêu
không bao giờ nên trở thành bổn phận, nghĩa vụ; chỉ có thế thì nó mới là vui vẻ.
Khoảnh khắc nó trở thành nghĩa vụ nó chết, nặng nề, và nó tạo ra cả nghìn lẻ một
vấn đề không thể giải quyết trực tiếp được. Đó là toàn bộ hiện trạng trong thế
giới. Bạn có thể tới nhà phân tâm, bạn có thể tới thầy, bạn có thể thiền, bạn có
thể làm cái này cái nọ - nhưng vấn đề cơ bản của bạn vẫn chẳng được động chạm tới.
Vấn đề cơ bản
của bạn còn lại có liên quan thế nào đó tới năng lượng dục của bạn, và bạn cứ
khắc phục nó ở đâu đó. Bạn cứ cắt lá, tỉa lá mà bạn chẳng bao giờ cắt gốc rễ. Mọi

mười ham muốn kia. Nó cũng tựa như một hạt mầm nhỏ trở thành cái cây lớn, hàng
nghìn cành và hàng triệu lá. Từ một ham muốn, hạt mầm đó, nhiều ham muốn khác nảy
sinh.
Bạn không thể
nói được điều gì về tương lai; bạn không nên nói, tương lai vẫn còn để mở. Đây
là một trong những nỗ lực lớn nhất của con người - kì cục, nhưng con người vẫn
cứ tạo ra nó. Một: người đó muốn cải tạo quá khứ, điều không thể làm được. Bất
kì cái gì đã xảy ra đều đã xảy ra rồi, không có cách nào làm lại được nó nữa; bạn
thậm chí không thể chạm vào nó chỗ này chỗ nọ được. Bạn không thể làm cho nó tốt

Cũng tốt là

đi, tức là nó hết rồi. Cây phải đợi. Tình yêu giống như làn gió thoảng. Khi nó
tới là nó tới - ai biết được nó tới từ phương nào, từ người nào, từ ai.
Đây là giải
phóng của Mật tông. Mật tông là triết lí nguy hiểm, nó là tôn giáo nguy hiểm.
Nó còn chưa được thử trên qui mô rộng hơn, loài người còn chưa có đủ dũng cảm để
thử nó trên qui mô rộng hơn - chỉ có vài cá nhân, rất ít và thưa thớt, mới thử
nó, và họ đã phải chịu đựng rất nhiều bởi vì xã hội không cho phép... xã hội
nghĩ đây hoàn toàn là tội lỗi. Nhưng Mật tông nói phải sống với người đàn bà mà
dòng chảy tình yêu của bạn đã dừng, với người mà bạn không còn vui vẻ nữa, là tội
lỗi. Việc làm tình với người đàn bà mà bạn không yêu là cưỡng hiếp. Việc làm tình
với người đàn ông mà bạn không yêu là cưỡng hiếp; đấy là mãi dâm.
Đây là thái độ
của Mật tông về cuộc sống. Mật tông tin vào vui vẻ bởi vì Mật tông nói vui vẻ
là Thượng đế. Vẫn còn đúng cho vui vẻ và hi sinh mọi thứ cho vui vẻ. Để cho vui
vẻ là Thượng đế duy nhất, và hi sinh mọi thứ - bất kì cái gì cần tới. Vẫn còn
tuôn chảy.

hiện tại. Bạn nghĩ rằng bạn đang nghĩ đến những điều lớn lao... bạn đã đọc những
thứ như thế của những nhà thơ ngớ ngẩn. Các nhà thơ bao giờ cũng gần như ngớ ngẩn;
họ không có kinh nghiệm thực về cuộc sống, họ chỉ mơ.
Bây giờ nhìn
xem: bạn nghĩ đây là tình yêu lớn - rằng bạn muốn sống với cô ấy cho tới khi bạn
chết. Đây không phải là tình yêu lớn, bạn sợ. Trong thực tế ngay bây giờ bạn không
tận hưởng nó, đó là lí do tại sao bạn đang lan toả vào tương lai. Ngay bây giờ
bạn đang bỏ lỡ nó, cho nên bạn muốn có nó bằng mọi cách - có thể không phải hôm
nay, thì ngày mai, ngày kia - đó là lí do tại sao nỗi sợ nảy sinh. Bạn muốn sống
với cô ấy cả đời bạn, để cho bạn có thể xoay xở theo cách nào đó.
Nhưng tại sao

tương lai? Để cho tình yêu của bạn được mạnh mẽ, như ngọn lửa, đến mức nó đốt
cháy toàn bộ bạn ngay bây giờ.

đang nghĩ "cho đến khi tôi chết..." Ai có thể nói được? Ít nhất tôi
không định nói gì về việc ấy cả, bởi vì tôi muốn bạn vẫn còn tự do và tôi cũng
muốn Savya được tự do. Gặp gỡ nhau như hai cá nhân tự do đi, gặp gỡ nhau như

kì biết ơn những ngày đó đã được làm thành sẵn có cho bạn qua người kia. Cảm thấy

mắt lưng tròng, với lòng biết ơn, với tình yêu, với tình bạn, với lòng từ bi -
tách ra. Cơn gió thoảng không còn thổi theo cách này nữa. Bạn có thể làm được
gì? Cảm thấy bất lực, nhưng tách ra. Đừng níu bám, bằng không các bạn sẽ phá huỷ
lẫn nhau.
Nếu bạn thực
sự yêu người kia, khoảnh khắc tình yêu tan biến bạn sẽ làm cho người kia được tự
do. Ít nhất thì thì tình yêu nhiều nhặn này cũng vì... để làm cho người kia được
tự do, để cho ở đâu đó khác, ở cánh đồng cỏ nào đó, tình yêu có thể đâm chồi, nở
hoa. Ít nhất đây là điều bạn có thể làm cho người kia, rằng tình yêu - nếu nó

Tự do trong
tình yêu của bạn. Gặp gỡ từ tự do, và khi tự do bị phá huỷ, để cho đó là một chỉ
dẫn rằng tình yêu đã biến mất - bởi vì tình yêu không thể phá huỷ tự do: tình
yêu và tự do là hai tên gọi cho cùng một điều. Tình yêu không thể phá huỷ tự
do. Nếu tự do bị phá huỷ, cái gì đó khác đang giả làm tình yêu - ghen tuông,

Nhưng có hai loại rắc rối: rắc rối huỷ hoại và rắc rối sáng tạo. Tránh rắc rối
huỷ hoại, bởi vì chúng đơn giản phá huỷ. Có rắc rối sáng tạo, cái sẽ sáng tạo,
cái đưa bạn lên bình diện tâm thức cao hơn. Bạn đã có đủ rắc rối rồi. Chắc chắn
tôi không định thêm rắc nào rối thuộc loại đó.

chàng, Pete và Dave, đang làm việc trên giàn giáo. Một người đi qua để tìm người
làm việc cho câu lạc bộ tạp kĩ, và người đó đứng ngay dưới ngôi nhà. Bỗng nhiên
người đó thấy Pete đang nhảy lộn ba vòng trên đỉnh giàn giáo, tiếp đó là nhảy lộn
ngược, rồi nhảy lộn vòng hai lần, và hạ xuống đất cạnh chân mình.
Anh chàng
trên mặt đất nghĩ rằng thật là phi thường cho nên anh ta đến gần Pete và nói,
"Anh có muốn tới và làm xiếc cho tôi không?"
"Có chứ,
được thôi."
"Anh muốn
được trả bao nhiêu?"
"Một
trăm đồng bảng."
"Những một
trăm đồng bảng cơ à?"
"Thế

Một mình bạn

Niết bàn là
câu chuyện này... câu chuyện cổ của nhà phật. Một người đàn bà trẻ trung xinh
tươi ngoại lệ, Enyadatta, chẳng thích gì ngoài việc ngắm mình trong gương. Cô ấy
cũng hơi lập dị nữa, như mọi người đều thế. Một sáng khi đang ngắm nhìn mình
trong gương thì hình trong gương không có đầu. Enyadatta trở nên phát hoảng và
chạy lung tung kêu hét lên, "Tôi bị mất đầu rồi, đầu tôi đâu? Ai lấy đầu
tôi? Tôi sẽ chết nếu tôi không tìm thấy đầu!"
Mặc cho mọi
người bảo đảm với Enyadatta rằng đầu cô ấy vẫn còn trên vai, cô ấy vẫn từ chối
tin họ. Mỗi lần cô ấy nhìn vào gương, đầu cô ấy đều không có đó, cho nên cô ấy tiếp
tục tìm kiếm điên cuồng, kêu la khóc lóc nhờ giúp đỡ. Lo sợ về sự lành mạnh của
cô, bạn bè và họ hàng của Enyadatta lôi cô về nhà và buộc cô vào cột nhà để cho
cô không thể làm mình bị thương.
Bạn bè của
Enyadatta tiếp tục tái bảo đảm với cô rằng đầu cô vẫn còn trên vai và dần dần
cô bắt đầu tự hỏi liệu họ có nói đúng sự thật hay không. Bỗng nhiên một trong những
người bạn của cô cắm một chiếc đinh sắc trên đầu cô. Cô kêu rú lên đau đớn, còn
người bạn thì than thở, "Đấy là đầu bạn đấy! Nó đây rồi!" Enyadatta lập
tức hiểu ra rằng bằng cách nào đó cô ấy đã tự lừa dối mình trong suy nghĩ rằng
cô không có đầu, trong khi thực tế cô ấy bao giờ cũng có nó.
Niết bàn cũng
vậy. Bạn chưa bao giờ ra khỏi nó, bạn chưa bao giờ xa khỏi nó. Nó là trong bạn,
bạn là trong nó. Nó đã có đấy, bạn chỉ cần trở nên tỉnh táo hơn một chút. Bạn cần
một cái đinh trên đầu. Cái đầu có đó: bạn không thể thấy được nó bởi vì bạn đang
nhìn sai hướng hay nhìn vào gương giả. Bạn không thể thấy nó bởi vì bạn không
có sáng tỏ để thấy. Bằng không thì niết bàn chẳng phải là một mục tiêu nào đó ở
đâu đó, nó không phải là kiếp sau, nó là ở đây và bây giờ.
Niết bàn là
chất liệu tạo nên bạn. Nó là trong từng tế bào, nó là trong từng thớ thịt của con
người bạn. Nó là bạn. Chỉ việc nhớ là cần. Chỉ việc nhớ ...
